Hénōsis Ministries advances saving faith, transfigurative experience, and synergistic practice through renewal in Christ the Logos, spiritually formative programs, and community initiatives that awaken and cultivate spiritual oneness and compassion among the people of Puerto Rico and beyond.
What is Hénōsis?
Hénōsis (in Greek: ἕνωσις) means mystical oneness — union with God through the Divine Logos — a union that overflows into a life of holiness and loving service. In Eastern Orthodoxy, Hénōsis is described as “the ultimate goal of human existence” and as “a way of summing up the purpose of creation.” Through Hénōsis, God unites Himself with all creation, placing humanity at the very heart of His divine purpose.
Hénōsis Ministries
Hénōsis Ministries provides opportunities for participation in Orthodox worship, fellowship, catechetical and biblical studies, as well as workshops and seminars. In accordance with the teachings of St. Symeon the New Theologian, the clergy actively promote and encourage the "birth from above in the Holy Spirit" (see John 3:3), which leads to oneness. The goal is to guide souls to the experience of salvation and inner communion with the Divine Logos, thereby deepening spiritual practice, cultivating inner peace, growing in love, and embracing interconnectedness.
Hénōsis, therefore, also provides faith-based ministries and human services throughout Puerto Rico, with a particular focus on children, teens, and young adults. Through educational and community-building initiatives, we invite people to connect with the Divine Logos, with one another, and with the world around them (see "Our Ministries"). By nurturing a deep awareness of our shared humanity and interconnectedness in God through Christ, we seek to cultivate a more compassionate, harmonious, and sustainable world for present and future generations.
